Mattie lounging on the sofa and being silly.  She just flips over onto her back sometimes and stays there sleeping.  Silly puppy!

When Mattie wants some attention, one of the things she does is lay down on the couch and beg for someone to sit next to her.  It’s part of why we’ve instituted a policy of, most nights, sitting down with her and watching a movie or an episode of TV.  She likes having us there with her – and she gets pets the whole time.

Mattie’s favorite spot is right by the door.  It’s not only because she can monitor whether someone’s coming or going.  It’s because the air conditioner blows right on that spot.

Mattie all tucked up for bed. Unfortunately, she doesn’t use her dog bed often. It’s slippery. She loves being covered up, though.

Mattie got under the desk the other day.  She wanted to be close and walked all the way in the desk to pop out the other side.  She stayed there for hours, too.

I believe the spot’s a bit of chicken fettucine that got misplaced as Mattie gobbled her leftovers down.  She really enjoys those.

Last night, Mattie insisted on bringing the blanket over her for the nightly half hour ritual of TV watching.  We do this to spend time with her at home, and she seems to enjoy it.  She lays on the sofa between us and I stitch during the show.  The cover was originally over the back of the sofa.  She dragged it down and draped it around her head and kept tugging at it to get it around her.  I’m not sure why she did it; it was a hot day that she spent most of outdoors, since the maid was in.  Anyway, we finally helped her rearrange the blanket and she was satisfied.  It stayed on the whole show.
