Simply Sharrvelous

These pictures are of Mattie playing hide and seek with a big tree on the beach side of the Rambla.  It’s a large, parklike area with a lot of use.

Mattie pulled me out on the causeway during the tide – no keeping her back, not even the scary stretch.

And here is a set of her pawprints on the beach.  I think they look cute.

The tide was coming in during this walk, but it didn’t stop Mattie from dragging me onto the causeway and exploring the water.

Mattie has a habit of exploring other people’s entrances.  We do keep her out of their houses, but here you can see her sniffing the flowers at the entrance to an apartment block.

I know it looks like the sea, but it’s still technically the Rio de la Plata, the widest river in the world.  The water’s brackish and smells of the sea.  In this top picture, you can see across the cove to another part of the Rambla.  On the bottom one, it looks like Mattie’s alone with the sea.  She loves the water so much.

These two pictures show what a cloudy and stormy day it was.  Mattie didn’t care.  She just wanted the water and surf.

Over one of the dangerous spots.  She’ determined.  And out onto the seawall!

Down the Jetty

Nearly to the beach, she can see it….  and then she detours onto the jetty.  This causeway is very narrow and has bits worn away, but she tramps fearlessly across to get to the water.

Mattie can tell when she’s going to get to play in the water.  We use a different halti to keep sand in only one, and we walk toward the beach.  Here, she’s soooo eager to get to the beach she’s running down the block.  Then, on the other side of the Rambla, she stops to smell something with the beach in sight.

On a Stroll

Sometimes Mattie just looks so happy and confident as she explores.  Here, one of those times is captured.
