Sandy Paws

When you see her in pictures like this one, especially the first, you understand why people think she’s a bear.  But she’s a Sharr, my Sharr, and I love her.

Pulling Out

Mattie pulled me out on the causeway during the tide – no keeping her back, not even the scary stretch.

And here is a set of her pawprints on the beach.  I think they look cute.

More Causeway

Mattie once again showing her fearlessness on the causeway as the water washes over it.  She really loves going out there and her footing’s getting much better on the rocks.

Braving the Tide

The tide was coming in during this walk, but it didn’t stop Mattie from dragging me onto the causeway and exploring the water.

Mattie out on the far side of the Rambla again, just posing for pictures.  She does that so well!

Beachies

Mattie wading in the water again. I’ve never seen another dog so in love with it.

On the Rocks

Mattie walking happily and confidently on the slippery rocks.

Brave Mattie

Rocks Mattie’s gotten a lot less timid about things like rocks and rickety bridges since her hip’s healed.  She insisted on going across these rocks, and she bravely crosses this bridge with rusting I-beams.

Water Dog

More of Mattie and the skyline, and then a close up of Mattie exploring a tide pool.  She gets upset if we walk anywhere near water and isn’t allowed in.

See the Punta

City ViewThese are Mattie in the area behind the seawall, tramping in the water.  It’s also a good view of the apartment blocks overlooking the sea.  This peninsula is called Punta Carretas, and we live a few blocks inland from the buildings.
